Neighbourhood
The Opera square is located at the crossing of 'Meir' (Antwerps most important shopping street) and the 'Leien' a large boulevard which was the medieval city wall. Cars and Metro are circulating underground and the area is now reclaimed by pedestrians and bicycles.
Antwerp's main railway station (Antwerpen-Centraal), Metro stations (Opera) and the main Bus hubs (Roosevelt) are all nearby, including the international Flixbus.
The 'Meir' is Antwerp's (and maybe Belgium's) largest pedestrian only shopping street and all the main brands are present. Connected to the Meir are the 'Kammestraat' and 'Wilde Zee' where you will find smaller shop with a more contemporary offer and more local flavour.
